Hi, I'm Ignace! 👋

I help you create awesome videos you are proud of 🔥

You probably landed on this page because you are curious who this smiling Belgian guy with his laptop is, right? 😅

Well, this is me in a few bullet points:

  • 🐱 I have a cat named Desperado… yes, he’s named after the beer
  • 🎮 I got into editing because of my gaming addiction as a teenager
  • 😨 A 9-to-5 office job terrifies me. I love the freedom to work everywhere
  • I don’t think you need fancy gear or a big budget to make great videos
  • I believe creativity isn’t a gift you’re born with, it’s a skill you can learn 👊
  • ⏱️ I hate wasting time, which is why I teach smart workflows to save hours
  • 📺 I’ve published over 750 YouTube tutorials, and over 100,000 people follow my courses and use my templates every year
  • I’m on a mission to help video editors skip years of trial and error, so they can actually enjoy editing again👍

And I'm trying to help video editors in two ways:

So that’s the summary.

But if you want to read my full story, keep reading 📚

I will tell you how I went from being afraid of After Effects to working togehter with brands like McDonalds & Disney.

My gaming addiction 🎮

Like a lot of teenagers, I was addicted to games, Counter-Strike, RuneScape, you name it. My mom used to say, “Ignace, you’re always behind that computer.” And she was right.

But gaming wasn’t just about playing for me. I wanted to share the highlights, the crazy kill streaks, the funny moments.

So I started editing little videos, making montages, even designing wallpapers and banners for my clan 😊

Pretty soon, people started asking: “How did you make that?”

That’s when I uploaded my first tutorials to YouTube. The year was 2009 and I was making tutorials about Sony Vegas (video editing program) and Photoshop.

Within 6 months I had created 30+ tutorials, hit 1,000 subscribers, and realized: I loved teaching just as much as I loved editing.

I kept going...

The simple tutorials became more complex, I switched from Sony Vegas to Premiere Pro, and I started experimenting with After Effects.

"Quick side note, the first time I opened After Effects, I was so overwhelmed, that I didn't open it again for a whole year." 🥵

How things have changed...

So my skills got better and I started experimenting with Motion Graphics and Visual Effects.

I got obsessed with recreating scenes from famous movies, and started creating my own amateur short films.

Every project improved my skills, the tutorials became more advanced. The community grew. And visual effects, especially, became my obsession.

I was in love with being able to create anything that I had in mind, it was magical 🪄

But something else stood out.

A lot of people struggled to do what I did.

After all, I was spending almost all my time editing videos and improving my skills.
But not everybody has years of their life to figure everything out get better at video editing.

Even though people could follow my tutorials and recreate the effects with success, they still struggled when it came to making something of their own.

The problem with tutorials

That’s when it clicked. Tutorials only get you so far.

They’re like puzzle pieces. You learn a cool effect here, a flashy transition there.

But no one shows you how the pieces actually fit together.

That’s why so many creators, including me, back then, ended up making videos that looked “just okay” but didn’t feel next-level.

The tutorials teached them the 'How' but not the 'Why'.

People could follow along and copy the steps. But when it came time to bring their own ideas to life, they got stuck. They kept bouncing between random videos, hoping it would all click eventually.

It usually didn’t.

And I realized, this wasn’t just frustrating. It was slowing people down. Wasting their time. Making them doubt their skills 😔

That’s when I started building something better. Something that would finally connect the dots.

The solution 💡

That’s when I started building something better. Something that would finally connect the dots.

Because I knew the struggle all too well.

I knew what it felt like to spend hours jumping between random tutorials, only to end up with a half-finished project and more questions than answers.

I knew what it was like to start a new edit and feel stuck before I even started. And I knew the frustration of seeing my videos look “fine,” but never quite as good as I wanted them to be.

So back in 2020, I started working on my first video editing course.

I worked really hard on it and after 6 months, the first version was finished 🥵

It was everything I wish I had when I was starting out. A clear path instead of scattered shortcuts. Step-by-step workflows instead of trial and error. And real guidance on not just how to edit, but why certain choices actually make a story work.

And it worked...

People actually bought it and are still buying the course to this date 👍

So nowadays I can spend my time doing what I love, editing videos and sharing my passion with video editors from all around the world.

Enough about me, what about you?

Okay, enough about me 😅
