In this tutorial, we will show you how to create a solar eclipse in Adobe After Effects. We will not use any plugins or footage in creating this solar eclipse.

Begin by creating a new composition. Make your composition full HD and rename it to "main comp" or "solar eclipse comp." Then, create your sun in another composition. Start by creating a white core on a new solid layer. Use the ellipse tool to make a circle that will represent your sun.

Once you have your circle, use the "Roughen Edges" effect from the effects and presets. Adjust the sharpness of the edge of your eclipse to your preference. We will guide you through the entire process of creating this effect in the video.
