Creating Film Burns Light Leaks or Lens Flares with Your Camera

If you don't want to make your own, you can download them here for free.

In this video, you will learn how to create your very own light leaks or lens flares with your camera. You will need a good camera and lens to achieve this effect.

Normally, you would attach your lens to your camera to shoot your subject. However, in this case, you will detach your lens. While shooting, hold your lens against your camera with a slight opening to allow light to enter through the seam.

If you don't have the time to experiment with your camera, you can record your footage with the lens attached and add the light leaks during post-production using video editing software. Record lens leaks with a black background so you can easily add them to your footage during post-production.
