Creating Glowing Neon Footsteps with After Effects

In this tutorial, we will show you how to create glowing neon footsteps using Adobe After Effects and Mocha, a tracking software that comes with After Effects. Follow these steps to achieve a stunning neon effect.

**Step 1: Analyze Your Footage**
Start by importing your footage into Adobe After Effects. Use the 3D Camera Tracker to analyze your footage. If you encounter difficulties with the tracker due to reflections, mask out the reflections to improve the tracking accuracy.

**Step 2: Create a New Composition**
Drag your tracked footage into a new composition. Export your video file as an image sequence and then re-import it into After Effects as an image sequence with a frame rate of 24 frames per second.

**Step 3: Track the Animation**
Use Mocha to track the animation on your footage layer from the image sequence. Ensure that the tracking is accurate to maintain the realism of the neon footsteps.

**Step 4: Create the Neon Footsteps**
Once the tracking is complete, create the neon footsteps by adding shape layers or masks to represent the footstep shapes. Apply glow effects to these shapes to achieve the neon effect. Customize the glow settings to your preference, adjusting the intensity, color, and size.

**Step 5: Refine and Animate**
Refine the neon effect by adding motion blur and other effects to enhance the realism. Animate the footsteps to follow the tracked path, ensuring that they align with the movement in your footage.
